Parenting win: my toddlers decided our old countertop was their new canvas. Sharpie, glitter glue, you name it—it’s ruined. Now I need something nearly indestructible (and stain-proof) for our busy household. I’ve heard good things about quartzite or solid surface materials, but I’m clueless. Any recommendations for a custom countertop that can survive juice spills, Play-Doh sculptures, and the occasional impromptu science experiment? Budget-friendly options are a plus!

Oh wow, this hit home—my 3-year-old once poured pancake syrup down the backsplash while “cooking,” and we didn’t find it for hours. Sticky disaster aside, we swapped our laminate for quartzite after that, and it’s been a game changer. Super tough, doesn’t flinch at juice or glitter glue (yes, we’ve tested both unintentionally). We got ours custom through Edstone after a friend swore by them—they helped us pick something that looked great and handled toddler chaos. Worth checking out!
