My buddy’s email got hacked and the scammers even sent me a weird “urgent money” email from his address. Now I’m wondering if mine’s safe or if I’ve been part of some phishing thing.  Is there a reliable tool or site you’d recommend to check if my email’s been hacked or shows up in any data breaches?

I feel you on this. My coworker’s email got hacked last year and the scammers started spamming everyone in his contacts with those “hey I need money ASAP” messages. It made me wonder if I’d clicked on something sketchy too. I ended up using this checker – email hack checker – and it showed if my email was in any leaks. Super quick to run and at least you’ll know if it’s time to change passwords or not. Better safe than sorry!
